BATON ROUGE, La. — Groundbreaking work on youth-focused websites earned Object 9 two silver W3 Awards for 2010, the International Academy of Visual Arts announced. The academy honored Object 9’s work for the Autism Research Institute and for Radio Flyer:

Object 9 donated hundreds of staff hours organizing the institute’s 275-plus Web pages; building a Content Management System that allows doctors, parents and board members to publish valuable information; and configuring free streaming webcasts, audio files and Autism.tv architecture to make the website more powerful and helpful to visitors. Those efforts won Object 9 a W3Award in the Structure and Navigation category.

The company with the great little red wagons — and bikes, trikes, scooters and horses — asked Object 9 to create a dazzling Radio Flyer License Bureau. With the help of their parents, kids choose their favorite Radio Flyer model, provide a birthday and favorite color, and upload their photo to create their own Radio Flyer license. One by one, the children’s photos combine as clickable tiles in the World’s Largest Radio Flyer Wagon Mosaic. Object 9 earned Toy and Hobby category honors for the Radio Flyer license site.

“These two projects challenged our creative faculties in the best possible ways,” said Jon Cato, Object 9 managing partner. “It’s what we’re built to do—move the needle forward in bold directions that help our clients achieve results. We’re elated that the academy recognized these innovative projects.”
