Hello Future O9’er!
Object 9 is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Media Manager to join our team and support both internal and external clients. Candidates will have experience driving brand engagement and direct response through social channels. In particular, we are looking for candidates who have developed and managed communities through both paid and organic strategies.
Object 9 has clients in multiple industries including consumer-packaged goods, entertainment, insurance, technology, finance and agriculture, with more on the way. Understanding the social landscape so that activities for each client are focused on the social communities that align with their business objectives will be critical for long-term success in this role. Furthermore, understanding how social fits into a complete multi-channel marketing approach will be an important and ongoing responsibility.
In addition to supporting our clients, the person in this role will help use social media to grow the profile of Object 9 and its principals. Developing content that grows Object 9’s brand and “managing up” to ensure executives actively participate in the content development process are key expectations of the person in the role.
Overall Qualifications & Desired experience/skill sets:
- Digital native
- 2-3 years digital marketing/social media experience, or college grad seeking entry-level internship
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or similar
- Active on social channels and creating personal content
- Deep understanding of and interest in social advertising; including advertising systems and technologies, trends and hot topics
- Strong writing skills, data-driven, results-oriented
- Comfortable working and speaking in our clients’ industries
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Ability and experience working with cross-functional teams
- Familiar in areas outside of social (SEO, PPC, market research, mobile, traditional media, etc.) for cross channel campaign development
- Ability to prioritize and complete numerous deliverables as requested
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial, relationship builder
- Familiar with a range of social media analytics tools and software packages, and
- Humble, intellectually curious and highly collaborative.
Social Media Manager:
- Create and maintain social content calendars.
- Strategically align, create, and schedule content for managed communities.
- Introduce innovative campaign strategies for social channels.
- Study industry specific white papers, publications, reports, and data for an up-to-date understanding of the industry and its trends.
- Interested in personal growth: reach out to prospects, key influential stakeholders and publications in the industry
- Leverage measurement tools to provide progress reports and mine the insights, while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on social campaigns and results on a weekly basis.
- Present to internal and external clients on social strategies and data analytics.
- Stay up-to-date on trends in social media and communicate their impact to both our team and our clients (i.e. become a Subject Matter Expert)
- Information gathering: find, listen, and monitor social conversations for mentions of your brand, your competitors and anything related, to plot the company’s position on social media.
- Frontline responding: answer questions and posting new content. Provide feedback and updates to client and management.
- Handle tasks and implement direction from management, act as eyes and ears of the company, and ensure campaign execution.
- Comfortable as decision-maker for each brand.
- Experienced juggling many brands at once. One hat off, another hat on!
- Work with media partner(s) to drive the best spend plan for media buying and placements.
- Drive sales and increased clicks to website.
- Consistent growth in followers/fans and engagement rates.
- Experience driving brand engagement and direct response through social channels.
Skills in Adobe products (Photoshop, InDesign), CRM (Hubspot), Google Analytics, AdWords, and SEO/SEM a plus.
